The Literacy Intervention and Training Group
WHAT WE DO
LITERACY INTERVENTION AND ASSESSMENTS
Our interventionists provide literacy support to students of all ages. Using a multisensory, structured literacy approach based on evidence-based practices such as the Orton-Gillingham approach and the Science of Reading, we provide one-on-one and small group intervention support to neurodiverse learners as well as learners who simply need some extra help. Our remedial intervention strategies are a culmination of 18 years of combined experience.
We aim to provide remedial literacy intervention in person or through online formats and we do so with the highest quality of instruction. We are continually growing our practices by keeping current with the research and expanding our knowledge base by taking advantage of learning opportunities as they become available.
Dr. Gavin Reid is a fully registered Psychologist with the BC College of Psychologists in Canada and a registered chartered psychologist with the BPS / HCPC in the UK, which is the official registration body for practicing psychologists. He provides Psycho-Educational Assessments to families all over the world helping them to understand the learning process and develop their child's potential.
We are committed to supporting and empowering our students, their parents and other educators to create the biggest impact in literacy education and to create the brightest future for learners everywhere.
PARENT SUPPORT AND ADVOCACY
As interventionists, we work with students and parents every day and we recognize that there is nothing worse than watching your child struggle with their learning. We are committed to not only supporting our students with their academic needs, but we are also deeply committed to extending our support to parents who may feel overwhelmed, confused and frustrated about how they can best support their children.
There is a profound need for more parent support without the hefty price tag and The LIT Group Inc. is proud to be offering "FREE" parent workshops to parents of children with learning challenges. We will be offering workshops on topics like...
How to make sense of your child's assessment.
Individual Education Plans (IEP's) - what you need to know and how you can help to create effective ones with your child's school.
Tech friendly learning tools to support your child's learning at home.
Homework! Navigating the homework challenge including strategies for supporting and helping your child with homework at all academic levels.
How to navigate the emotional challenges of neurodiverse learning and how to implement social and emotional strategies at home to help your child thrive at home and at school.
