Michelle McIntosh is a Certified Orton-Gillingham Practitioner providing structured language and literacy support using the Orton-Gillingham approach. She has over ten years of experience working in the educational field. Michelle is a Supervising Mentor to other structured literacy practitioners and sits on the Board of Directors for the Canadian Academy of Therapeutic Tutors (CATT).
Michelle has co-created a mindfulness program, Aduri Kids, and has a particular interest in the social-emotional aspect of learning. She is the co-author of the book, Just Read! A Structured and Sequential Resource for Teaching Reading.
Michelle offers a wide variety of services including:
Traditional 1:1 Orton-Gillingham lessons
30-minute "booster" lessons in reading and writing
Social-Emotional support woven into lessons as needed
Lesson packages include three progress reports throughout the school term, parent support and consultations and an initial informal literacy skills-based assessment.
